Everyone,
After unsuccessfully keeping him down yesterday and this morning, I think he woke up from his nap sore. He was cross. He only wanted Mommy. So we all sat and watched movies this afternoon and he peed all over me. (His diaper is worn looser because of where the incision is…and it’s prone to leaking. He had to have 3 outfits today because of it!)
I’ve been very on top of the whole pain medication thing. I can tell when we’re getting close to the next dose though. He starts to get really cranky, cries a lot, and big circles show up under his eyes. Poor baby! I hope that he starts to feel really better soon because I’m really hurting to see him hurting.
This morning I went to get them out of their cribs and he said, “Uh-oh!” So I went over expecting to see something (not sure what now) and he looks up at me and said, “ow!” and started to bawl. It was so heart wrenching. I swooped him up (soggy pjs and all) and just held him and rocked until he stopped crying.
This also put out Professor who is used to spending all morning in my arms and he was cross and cranky with me too. And Butterfly was so sweet this morning petting Pirate’s head and getting him toys. But the sweetness wore off and by the evening she was a whining mess. I know she just wants attention. They all do. But sadly, Pirate needs me the most. Right now, the rest will have to deal.
I took Professor to the store with me this evening after Juice got home. What a good little boy he is! I guess I never realized how well behaved he is for me. He just stays really close, follows me where ever I go, and is happy not to touch things. It’s so funny to me that I’m JUST noticing this with him. I guess when I go out I’m so worried about keeping everyone in line, I didn’t realize that I didn’t need to keep him in line. A fun discovery.
The last of our huge snow pile melted today. The crocuses are blooming and the grass is greening up. It won’t be long till all the trees are in bloom and spring will be here. It’s been over 70 degrees the last few days. So beautiful! I’m hoping that we’ll make it to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom this year.

Everyone,
The mouse is dead! The mouse is dead! Icky too. Juice put it in the dirty diaper pail outside. It creeps me out every time I have to put a dirty diaper in there but there was no where else to put it until garbage day. I’m just glad it’s not summer.
It is SO not summer. In fact, it snowed today! It’s crazy cold for this time of year. Thanks Mom and Dad, for bringing winter back with you.
The flowering trees do look enchanting with all the snow drifting down. Sadly, no pictures as I was driving furiously home from the park. Too cold to play today!
I am thinking of getting a few blueberry bushes to live in pots for us. Anyone have experience growing blueberries? Anyone?
I spent the afternoon on the phone with different people setting up stuff for the boys’ birthday. I am so excited to celebrate one whole year! And I’m so happy we survived it.
I had to change Butterfly’s clothes 4 times today. That girl is pushing the potty limits. She obviously doesn’t know where the potty limits are since she went over them 4 times today. She is also pushing MY limits because this is driving me crazy!
Even though the conformation email says that my White House Easter Egg Roll Tickets will be emailed to me April 6-8th, they have not come yet. I am slightly worried. I guess they still have about 28 hours left to email me. I will probably call the company tomorrow and check because that would suck if I didn’t actually get any tickets. Especially since I have a conformation email and number.
Only 52 hours until my parents get here! (Give or take a few hours…I kind of got side tracked around hour #40.) I’m excited to see them again and have a week of fun filled exploration. Weather permitting, the airplane park, the cherry blossoms, the zoo, and the Lincoln Paper display are all on the list. Weather not permitting includes a few museums and probably the mall.
I have been so wrapped up in Operation Destroy Mouse and All Available Entrances To Warm House for Rodents that I haven’t done any cleaning. Mostly I am cleaning to find my metro pass. It’s around here somewhere…I’m just not sure where.
More on ODM&AAETWHR later, including cement. This should be fun. (Know what else would be fun? Playing godfather with the mice…putting their little feet in tiny cement blocks and pushing them off the pier of the local lake. Too cruel?)

Everyone,
Spring is trying it’s hardest to make an appearance here. We had a few really great days. They were sunny, warm, and the flowers really seemed to spring up. I even realized that I had NO short sleeve shirts for Butterfly. Luckily, my mom was still in town and we went shopping for a few things.
And then, it hit. We got rain all day on Friday, which turned to sleet half way through the day, and then snow by 7pm. We probably got about an inch of ice under the snow again. But luckily, it’s so warm that it didn’t stay at all. I think we have seen the last of the snow, but I could be wrong. The weather has been so wacky. It’s like winter got a late start and now spring is too.
I’m writing my parents’ visit but it’s just not done yet. I will post it as soon as it is. Not a whole lot to say about our lives here. They thought about sending Juice to New Mexico tomorrow and I’m glad they didn’t because I would have had to cancel my Mom’s Night Out with my mom’s group. And I did NOT want to do that! (Especially since they moved it from Thursday to Wednesday night so I could make it when I started being in charge of the teenagers’ activities at my church.)
Still babysitting, but it’s coming to a close. I’ve decided not to continue when The Mom goes back to school in the fall. The money has been nice, the time out of my own house has been nice, but I think it’s time to have my Mondays and Tuesdays back to my self.
