Everyone,
Happy Mother’s Day (yesterday) to Juice’s Mom, Gma! Gma, you are always so giving of your time, your knowledge, and your self. I can only aspire to do the things you have done in your life.
Happy Mother’s Day (yesterday) to my awesome Mom! I got really blessed in the mom department. And Mom, I hope you like your hair thing-y when I send it to you.
You are patient, kind, loving, fun to be with, and thoughtful. I know I can always talk out my many (many many many) schemes with you. And you help me see all sides. Thanks!

And a Happy Last Day of Being 5 to the girl who made me a mother. I am so lucky to have this girl in my life. What a beautiful, happy, tender hearted little Miss. I can’t believe she will be 6 tomorrow!

Everyone,
Welcome to my brand new re-opening of this blog. You’ll find a lot of changes from my Living in Maryland blog. Namely, well, it’s name. Like I said, my Living in Maryland blog was supposed to be temporary (like our move here). Six years later, we’re still here and I wanted something permanent (since it seems like we’re staying here indefinitely). Ta-da! This blog was born. Today!
What a better day for a birthday and a party than Mother’s Day. It was this week 5 years ago that I became a mother. Butterfly was such a cute, easy baby. She smiled. She ate. She embraced life to the fullest. And she had an opinion. I didn’t care, because, when you have one, I think you’re inclined to indulge. In a good way of course. She had (almost) 3 wonderful years with both her parents’ attention.
The boys were a rude awaking for her a little bit. But she’s grown to love both of them.
This week’s question of the week over at Multiples and More blog is:
What is your favorite thing about being a MoM?
I can’t think of just one thing that is my favorite thing. I think I love all the little things. Like this morning when Professor came and crawled into bed with me, snuggling and saying, “Meow! Meow!” and kicking his cold feet on my legs. And when Pirate joined him hiding under the covers. Who was then joined by Butterfly who basically shoved Juice out of the way in an attempt to make room for her by me. And even though I was exhausted this morning because I stayed up too late last night. And even though I had hopes of sleeping in or breakfast in bed (ha, dream on, not with these kids!) it was the perfect way to wake up on Mother’s Day.
I love how when they get hurt, they come to me. I love their big smiles in the mornings. I love that they love to snuggle next to me. I love to see them play. I love to see them develop and learn new things.
I love being on the front line of these brand new people! I can’t wait to see what they will become.
And speaking of being brand new, all this week as we celebrate my brand new blog (and also Butterfly’s 5th birthday!), I have prizes for you! Today’s prize is a signed copy of One and the Same: My Life as an Identical Twin and What I’ve Learned About Everyone’s Struggle to Be Singular by Abigail Pogrebin.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Ms. Pogrebin at a twin club meeting for the next county over. The book was fascinating. I believe it is a must read for anyone connected to twins in any way, especially identical twins. It is full of interviews of different twins, laced with memoirs of Ms. Pogrebin’s own experiences with being an identical twin herself. While I don’t have a lot of time on my hands for reading, I sailed through this book. It was amazing to hear other twin experiences.
So how do you win this book? Simply leave me a comment! Any comment will do. You can tell me how you like the blog, or how you found me, or whatever. You can even leave me more than one comment and have more than one chance to win it! Just make sure that you leave me your email address so I can contact you. Contest will close a week from today and you have until then to comment.
Come back tomorrow for another AMAZING giveaway!

PS- Here’s the legal disclaimer that says that I bought the book myself to give to you and Ms. Pogrebin was nice enough to sign it when I met her.
