Busy But Not…

Everyone,

Today was a crazy day at home for me. I don’t know why but staying home seems easier and harder at the same time. I typically don’t schedule things on Fridays because Juice often has the afternoons off and I like to spend time with him. So today we had nothing going on and enjoyed our lazy morning at home.

I didn’t get going with my exercising until almost 10:30am today. I didn’t get dressed until after 11:30. And by the time I was ready and all the kids were dressed and ready, it was time for lunch and naps!

Lunch was crazy. Lots of crying from the boys. Butterfly has started repeating anything you say to her and I have to say that is SO annoying. She also repeats what the boys say and when they cry. So both boys cried at lunch (it was taking to long to make!) and Butterfly was fake crying along with them. I had to step outside. I felt like my head was going to explode and everyone was going to get a spanking if I didn’t take a few minutes.

Luckily they had stopped by the time I came back in and everyone was able to eat well and went right down for naps no fussing. Juice walked in as I was just settling into my computer time and Halloween candy to make me feel just a little bit better.

He polished the numbers on our house (they matched the side of the house and no one could see them) and I talked to my cousin L for a long time. I also called our insurance and got referrals for Pirate’s appointment next week to look at his hernia. I’m hoping we can have this done by the end of the year before Juice’s insurance changes.

I also got two new cook books I’ve been excited about. I’ve been reading this blog and this one for a long time now. Both put out cookbooks this year and I used my birthday money plus some extra from swagbucks (yay free money!) and got them both. I am SO excited to start using them. I guess I was a little over excited about them because before I knew it, I planned out a month of meals and a grocery list a mile long. I was feeling in a cooking rut and frustrated with dinner. I guess all I needed was a few more cookbooks to get me motivated!

Now I’m making apple sauce and getting ready for my movie date with Juice. Hope everyone’s had a great Friday!

I Am On Fire Today!

Everyone,

I have done SO much today. It’s amazing what a day at home will do for you and the state of your house. Here’s what I did:

-tried (and failed) to convince Butterfly that it was still night time at 7am
-washed all of Butterfly’s sheets again, several accidents happened today
-washed the boys sheets
-finished up my laundry
-declared myself done with my Christmas cards, finished address and stamping the last of them
-swept (twice, once before Butterfly and once after)
-mopped (amazing!)
-moved all random boxes/stuff upstairs in preparation for book club tomorrow
-payed all bills
-cleaned off table, counters, other table
-cleaned downstairs bathroom
-got all visiting teaching appointments together
-visited with friends
-made an awesome dinner
-ate way too many sugar cookies
-admired Professor’s ability to almost sit up by himself
-played several games with Butterfly on the computer
-made Pirate laugh so hard he cried (not hard to do, that is one smiley kid)

Yeah, that’s it. It was a very full and fulfilling day. The boys were great at playing or napping today, and Butterfly even took a 2 hour nap. Juice helped a ton when he got home and put all the kids to bed and made all of their beds and did the dishes and cleaned the counters and the high chairs. I’m feeling all jazzed that I did all this stuff and could probably clean all night long if I wanted to. But I know I am tired and really need to get to bed because those boys will be up around 2am. And then 4am. And then 6:30am or so.

Day At Home

Everyone,

I declared today a stay at home day and I don’t think I stepped foot outside the house. Butterfly did to wave hello to me out our front window when Juice came home. “I want to do what he did!” Other than that, we were inside. I did entertain the idea of going to the bank after the kids woke up from their afternoon nap and I even put clothes on Butterfly so we could do that. But she cried so hard about leaving. She asked me why we had to go and I said to get some things done. She then looked at me with her big brown eyes and tear streaked face and said, “Can’t we get things done here?”

You bet! There’s always something to do at home. Instead of running errands, we stayed home. I did a load of laundry, which made it into the dryer within an hour of being washed and was actually put away. You hear me right, there was no lingering longer in the basket.

I cleaned the front room in anticipation of friends coming over to play tomorrow. I even cleaned the black hole of our couch. It’s where we dump everything when we come in and somehow, it never makes it out again. Well tonight it made it out.

I made baby food again today. I had three yellow squash on my counter for awhile and I wasn’t sure what kind of squash they were. Well, I opened up the first one to find a mess of brown mushy goo. Ugh, that one had gone bad. The second one reveled they were spaghetti squash and I baked both of them for an hour. An hour to cool, one and a quarter into the blender with some water and I had 48 oz of baby food. Plus probably another 30 oz with the stuff I ran out of ice cube trays for that I will freeze tomorrow. I love making baby food.

I’m hoping to clean off my kitchen table and maybe clean my downstairs bathroom before bed tonight. I also talked to my BFF Mink for about 2 hours today. It’s our bi-weekly phone call. She is about 4 weeks away from having baby girl #2 and I’m thrilled for her. Wish I was there though.

So yes, there is a lot to be done at home. Great idea Butterfly!
