Cold Trunk or Treat

Everyone,

This past weekend, we had a very unusual storm here.  It snowed!  In October!  Now all my family and friends in Utah are going to laugh at that statement, but it’s been over 30 years since it snowed here in October.  So it was a big deal!

And, if you’ve been reading my blog for any amount of time, you know that we go out in the weather all the time.  This time was no exception.  Our church was having their annual truck or treat and we weren’t going to miss that!

It was cold though.  It was also cold when we went to the church barn dance and chili cook off after.  But everyone wore their costumes and their coats and had a great time, I think!

That is me in my big blue cape handing out Just Dance 3 headbands instead of candy.  Thanks to the Clever Girls, they were a hit!

PS- Is it bad the boys are STILL wearing their costumes from Monday?  Maybe I should mention that the costumes are pajamas that I bought them.  Maybe it’s time to peal them off and wash.  Something.

November Bubble Gum Posts

Everyone,

So.  It’s November.  And it’s the first day of November.  And that means that I am joining NaBloPoMo.

NaBloPoMo 2011

Remember that? Where I post every day for a month? Yeah. I’m going to jump on the band wagon. And hopefully I won’t a) fall off and b) continue through the end of the year.

So!  Welcome to my NaBloPoMo!  When I told Juice that I was doing this again for the month, he said, “It sounds like some kind of bubble gum.”  Of course, we had just been trick or treating for several hours with our kids.  We had candy on the brain.

Speaking of candy and Halloween, here are some pictures of my super heroes!  (Although I’ve been told that Batman is not a super hero…)

Batman Halloween 2011

This guy looks pretty super to me though!

Spiderman Halloween 2011

And this one is a confirmed super hero, even though he became a super hero from a radio active spider.

Wonder Woman Halloween 2011

And this pretty wonderful girl and her indestructible bracelets and returning tiara, is amazingly super as well.

And we had a super Halloween! We went trick or treating with a bunch of friends from church.

Halloween 2011 Trick or Treating

We also trick or treated for almost 2 hours yesterday. It was SO much fun. We walked the boys out (note to self: remember the wagon next year) and even walked Butterfly out.

They slept well and so did I!

What a Difference Sleep Makes

Everyone,

Juice is doing MUCH better, thanks to a good night’s sleep. I am no longer coughing and the boys noses are just slightly running. Butterfly is still unscathed. I feel like we bounced back from this one pretty quick but Juice thinks otherwise.

Today was yet another fun BBQ with our church this time. It was great! There was tons of food, a bounce house and a playground for the kids, and good friends to talk to. Of course, it rained on us. Hard. Didn’t seem to bother anyone too much, though. Butterfly had a pretty good time (although she kept saying no one would play with her…BFF Vinny was too excited to be in the bounce house to come out and do anything else) and came home wet and cross. She napped. The boys did not. ARG! They were DONE by 5pm and have been quiet ever since. (Well, except for the time that Professor got his binkie stuck between inside his sleep sack. He couldn’t find it and was pretty unhappy!)

I was hoping to do some geocaching today. You know, that fun treasure hunting thing I’ve gotten hooked on. But it rained off and on all day and there was no nap to be had from the boys. So, my goal is to go tomorrow, after I do my errands and have friends over in the morning. Juice says I’ve become obsessed with it. I wouldn’t go that far but it’s a lot of fun. And free! And there is exercise and fresh air involved! All good things!

6 days till launch!

Easter Weekend

Everyone,

On Easter Eve, we decided we better use the egg dying kit we got last Easter at the White House Easter Egg Roll. But we started late (I am just so tired lately) and so we decided only to use one tablet. And then we had to cook 2 batches of eggs because the first batch we cooked in our awesome toaster and you have to poke holes in them in order to cook them. And once I did that, I didn’t want to dye them. So we had to cook them the ‘old fashioned’ way of boiling water. Imagine that. Still, we had a great time and each dyed our own egg and ate them the next morning. This is a picture of Butterfly’s egg.

Easter morning she was able to go through her easter basket. She had no idea she was getting one and was SO EXCITED to go through it. I got her some little people in plastic eggs, and gave her about 4 small eggs with 4 jelly beans in them each. The pictures are so funny because her mouth is so full of jelly beans that she can’t even smile. But she enjoyed them and I got a little sad I can’t eat them with her!

Her Easter dress I bought on ebay about 2 years ago with another thing the seller was selling. it’s very cute, although really wrinkly. It fits her perfectly (lucky me!) and she loved prancing around with it on. She even got Juice to dance with her in our room so she could twirl and watch the skirt flare out. She looks so sweet in it, and not to mention grown up!

I pulled out my summer maternity dress too and remembered the last time I wore it. It was the Sunday before Butterfly was born. She was 2 days away from making her apperance. My cousin and his wife had come over to visit and we had dinner with them. I remember after they left, I had Juice take a picture of me in my dress to show my mom how much room I had left in it. Well, I put it on this time and wondered where all that extra room went! Here is me with my big belly. And also crazy long hair. I don’t know what it is about my hair and pregnancy but it grows so fast and to great lengths. I am planning on getting it cut sometime soon. Hopefully I will be brave enough to cut of 10 inches for Locks of Love. I did that with Butterfly’s pregnancy and I think it would be kind of a fun thing to do with every pregnancy. But right now, it’s so long it’s annoying. Hopefully I can get myself over to a good hair cutting place and have them chop it off this week. That way I won’t have to deal with it long when the twins are born.

Our Easter was very low key this year. Notice big belly in the picture and figure out why. :) My mom sent us a bunch of new movies to watch and we were able to talk to my brother and sil and see their new baby Cappy on the web cam. (And bro, if you don’t like the name, come up with one yourself on your own blog and update it!!)

Leap Day

Everyone,

I guess it’s only once every 4 years that I get to talk about today. So here I am, going to talk about today.

We all got to bed very late last night on account of the class. (More in another post about that.) Juice got up early and went to work as usual. Butterfly slept until about 9am, where she got up and brought me a ‘flower’ (her blanket) like she does every morning. She really is a very sunny girl in the morning, and loves to just start into playing. I think it’s because I insist on her eating before we play that we have our little morning break downs. But this morning she was quite happy to sit and eat her cereal while I tested my blood and made myself a waffle. (Okay, I toasted a frozen one I made about a week ago.) Levels at 76, so I enjoyed my whole wheat waffle and syrup and a big glass of milk. Yum!

Butterfly did not want to watch a show after breakfast (huge, it’s her normal routine so I can shower) and so we played with her airplane. And we played with her alphabet puzzle. I got too tired to do much else, and she played for awhile while I browsed on my lapple.

She decided that she wanted to go upstairs to change her diaper, and then she decided she wanted to stay upstairs and watch a show there. Okay, fine. She got dressed, she picked out Dumbo, she sat on my bed and watched it while I showered. Honestly she probably jumped on my bed the whole time but I don’t really care. When I emerged from the bathroom, she was enjoying the movie and jumping right in the middle. So I laid down on the edge and watched the movie with her. And then I fell asleep.

Butterfly cried that she couldn’t jump anymore (too tired) and so she laid down next to me and finished Dumbo up. Did you know that the Dumbo dvd is on a continuous loop? I didn’t. Now I do because I fell asleep again and woke up about half way through the movie. Again. I dozed, answered Butterfly’s questions, and painfully sat up. (Apparently too much walking yesterday, my hips hurt!)

Wait, it was 2pm! And she hadn’t had lunch and was an hour late for a nap she desperately needed. So I sleepily go downstairs to make her lunch and Juice shows up from work because he is done with work. Juice takes over her lunch prep and she whines/cries all through lunch. She eats, she cries, she laughs, she bawls, she hangs on Juice and won’t be consoled.

He takes her up for a nap, and she stalls and cries and won’t be consoled. Finally, he leaves her crying in her room and comes down to crash on the couch. I go up because I hear her crying for ‘mommy red bird’ (which is her name for me right now, Juice is ‘daddy blue bird’ and she is ‘baby red bird’. Very cute.) Anyway, she and I snuggle for a minute, I find her favorite blanket, she gets to listen to her favorite book on CD and she goes down. Both her and Juice sleep for a few hours.

Juice gets up, takes the dog out, and I am just now starting to hear Butterfly stirring in her bed. I’ve just taken my blood sugar after lunch (100) and had a snack. Now the boys are stretching and moving and letting me know they are okay. Thanks guys!

We will probably have hamburgers for dinner, stay in and do as little as possible. And bed early for everyone. What an exciting Leap Day.
