Everyone,
Happily joining up with Lolli and showing off a good picture I took. This is from when we were in Utah. (I have not taken any pictures this week…no one wants to see snot covered kids crying!)
My little Pirate is so observant. He’s the one that found this snail and was happy to be showing off his discovery. Butterfly is standing right next to him and at one point held the snail too. That is, until the snail came out of it’s shell and looked at her. With one eye. That was enough to send her back into the house.

Everyone,
I have been running from one thing to another day getting ready for Butterfly’s big birthday bash tomorrow. We’re having a carnival and hopefully it will turn out okay. I’ve got a million and one things running through my head. Mostly I’m just happy I found my underwater camera that is my video camera today. It has a tendency to walk away in small hands. This time, I found it in my camera bag. Imagine that.
Ahem…moving on.

Tonight we had the great pleasure of going to a wedding of Juice’s cousin. It was a lot of fun to see all of our relatives, and to have everyone remark on how SIMILAR Butterfly and Pirate were to all the other little cousins running around. Gotta love those genes and how they show up! Also, it’s fun to hear of all my cousins who read the blog. Hi guys!
Juice’s cousin was in charge of pictures and asked me to bring my camera along and help out a little. I was a bad phototog and didn’t charge my batteries. So the camera ran out of juice right as they were cutting the cake. (See Dad this is why I need a battery grip!) Still, Jenny was able to get some good pictures (I just handed my camera over to her. You try wrangling 3 kids and try and take pictures!) I was also able to help her stage family shots and get every one’s attention. Juice’s comment after we were done with the pictures: “Your dad would have been so proud.”

Joining Lolli and her picture meme this week.
I took this picture of Juice making his chain mail gloves. A tutorial is in the works (hence the pictures) but I really liked this one for some odd reason.
I like the depth of field and the picture of Juice with tools in his hands. Something he loves to do.

Everyone,
Where to begin? Well, let’s start with Lolli’s picture meme. No, let’s start with an announcement! My new blog is almost almost finished. Sunday is the day I will unveil it in a grand (re) opening. And what is a grand (re) opening without prizes?! I have a whole week’s worth lined up for you guys. Be excited. I have some AWESOME things to win too.
Now, on to Lolli’s picture meme:
See what we bought today? I am SO excited to try and grow blueberries. We’ve got the pots and now we have the plants. Hopefully we’ll have blueberries through the summer. I’m a little nervous because I haven’t had a great track record growing things. Hopefully these will thrive and we’ll be enjoying a few freshly grown berries from our own back yard.
Earlier in the day, I decided to cut up some avocado. While I was cutting, with my new awesome knives, Professor came running into the kitchen and slammed into my legs. Which made me loose my grip on the avocado. So instead of cutting the avocado, I cut my finger. Deeply.
Juice was on his way home (I love early Fridays) and my neighbor Lala came over to watch the kids while they napped. Juice drove me (bleeding) to the urgent clinic. The doctor was very nice, cleaned me up, and looked at the finger. Because of the pressure I had been putting on it, the wound was very neat looking. He cleaned it up, wrapped it up, and sent us on our way.
We bought the bushes, went to the store, and got some more gauze for my finger. In the course of these errands, my finger bled off and on. So much so that I soaked through the gauze (hence the new gauze at the store).
Once we pulled off the soaked gauze, the wound looked terrible. It had opened and was all jagged. It also moved funny when I moved my finger. Rats. I went back to the doctor. He took one look at it, poked it more, and declared it needed a stitch. Cleaned, numbed (by a cream), and sewn together once. He then put some wound closure tape on it and told me to come back if it bleeds a lot.
That adventure over, I came home and helped put the kids to bed. About half an hour later, we hear, “Mommy Daddy! Pirate threw up!”
Uh-oh. Wow I didn’t know how much stuff his stomach could hold. One clean bed, one clean boy and one long snuggle later, and one sleeping boy. Poor kid.
I am beat. My finger hurts. And hopefully those blueberry bushes will be still green tomorrow!

Everyone,
This week for my friend Lolli‘s Give Me Your Best Shot meme, I thought I’d do the best shot that I took on my little camera. In total, I think I have 3 cameras. My nice big one, my old point and shoot (which groans sadly whenever you turn it on) and my little underwater camera. I just keep the little underwater camera in my coat pocket and take pictures when I can. It’s also the main camera I use in the summer near water and in the winter near snow. I like it. It’s also the camera I take all the videos on until I save up for a flip camera (I’ve gotten almost 100 dollars at Amazon. For free! Earned by doing normal internet searches from Swagbucks. Sign up and you and I will both benefit!)
Now, I maybe upload the pictures on there once a month unless there’s a video I want to show off. This past download included a few pictures I took of Pirate in the hospital waiting room (before we went to the triage of eternal waiting) and a video of him playing. It also included this picture:
Here is my brave boy about half an hour after his surgery. He still looks a little drugged. But he was smiling just a little bit. Notice his beloved blanket (which had to be washed today, the horror!) and his cute green pjs for St. Patrick’s day.
Any cool pictures you’ve done this week? Link up!

Everyone,
Pirate found our Wii guitars today. He pulled it out of it’s hiding place behind the couch. There was a lot of effort being put into it and I was enjoying his concentration. Once he got it out of the couch, he put the strap around his neck. By this time, Professor had seen it and wanted his own. He is not as strong and patient and determined as Pirate so I had to help. I missed Pirate walking over to the tv, turning it on, and walking back to the couch. Once Professor was situated, Pirate was in the corner pretending to play. It was really adorable for them both to be trying to rock out on fake guitars. I got a few pictures of my rock stars!
Hope you can play along with my good friend Lolli and share your great pictures this week!

Butterfly (as always) refuses to sit in front of the camera for a picture. Stinker.

PS- I also had a question answered by Swistle today! I just love her!

Everyone,
This is a shot of Butterfly playing with my Nana’s old fans. She absolutely loved them at the funeral and almost cried when we had to leave them behind. Luckily all my aunts and uncles were enamored with her and these fans that they sent one home with us.
This girl and her eyes, though! The long, thick, dark lashes! The exact match to Juice’s color that changes from a light brown to golden brown to olive green and every color in between. They are frequently dark with frustration, or alight with delight. Between these beautiful eyes and her one deep dimple, I think we’re going to have a run for our money when she’s older!
Playing along with my good friend Lolli at Better in Bulk.
