This is the last of the beach updates I’m going to do. Promise. This is also the last time I will moan about the loss of my camera. Because you must admit, it was an awesome camera. It took pictures like this:
I just can’t get over how perfect this picture is. To tell the truth, I’m a little nervous about sharing it because I’m afraid that someone will steal it. But it’s just too amazing not to be shared. Anyone know how to make a water mark?
That camera also took things like this:
We had so much fun just hanging around in the water like that. And yes, we even had fun being splashed in the face by big waves.
And I’m glad that I have the memories that camera gave me. It truly did go out with a bang. Thanks again little underwater camera! You will be missed.
I think I am sleep deprived because I’m not sure if I updated you on Butterfly’s 3 year old stats. Probably not since they came almost a month later. When she turned 2, we were in Disneyland and I didn’t get home until a month later. The peditrician’s office wouldn’t schedule something within the calander year because insurance doesn’t always pay for it. So we went around June 3rd.
Butterfly is a big girl. She is as big as a 5 year old. Seriously. She is 45 lbs and 47 inches. (I can’t find my little book they wrote it down in so we’re going by my seriously lacking sleepless brain here.) She wears size 4-5 clothes, no more in the toddler sizes! She also wears a size 10 toddler shoe. I think this fall I will probably have to buy her regular kid shoes because she is so big. She is going to be so tall!
She has a memory like a steel trap and cries if she remembers something that we didn’t do. She is also throwing tantrums if something happens that isn’t in her time line. Like today, Flower went up to Butterfly’s room to get the ponies. Butterfly played down here for a few minutes, and then went to go up to get something. On the way up, she met Flower coming down with the ponies. Apparently that was not in order and she broke down and cried. Arg…it’s so frustrating sometimes.
I love that she loves to play so much. I love that she is a great eater and I never worry if she’s getting enough. I love that she only wants Pirate to sit next to her in the van. I love that she is so active and so loving.
Here is her 3 year old slide show. It’s pretty long so I understand if only my parents watch it. Enjoy Mom and Dad!
It’s been a great month posting every day. It was hard at first, but I’ve actually come to enjoy it like I did last year. And like last year, I would like to continue writing more. Although without the chance of prizes, I don’t know if I will.
Butterfly has this book memorized. It is so dang cute to hear her “reading” it to herself at night. Plus, it’s a long book. She is amazing to know the whole thing at 2.5 years old. Okay, she is just amazing. I hope you enjoy hearing it as much as we do.
Some of my favorite words from this book are: pedestal, perhaps (‘haps, she says), period, flashy (faasheee). Okay, it’s just all around cute.
She has a little cold (we all do again! No Ed! We don’t want your cousins/aunt/3rd cousin twice removed to visit! Go away!) so she’s sounds a little stuffy but man can she talk.
Remember when I did this video for Butterfly last year on her birthday? It made my parents cry. It made me cry. Still does. Since we don’t have enough happy crying, I thought I’d make another one for Butterfly this year. I have finally finished it (ignoring the 400+ emails I have because I haven’t checked my email in almost 3 weeks) and I hope you will like it. Turn on your speakers, get your tissues and maybe a drink. It’s over 15 minutes long. I like it but would love your comments. And since last year I got a lot of questions asking about the songs I used, I put little credits in this time. Enjoy!
I just can’t believe how much she has changed from this time last year. Her eyes have definitely changed color (watch that…very cool!) and she has learned to walk, talk, run, jump, give kisses, say NO!, and all the other stuff you learn in a year. We have also been ALL OVER. It looks like that is all we do, travel around. She has been to Gettysburg, Hawaii, Utah, California, Assateague, DC (several times), Annapolis (also, several times), Monticello, and the White House Easter Egg Roll. We stay busy here in our house.
Seriously, I can’t believe that she is 2 going on 3. What happened to the tiny baby in the first slide show?
