The Tooth Fairy Comes Again

Everyone,

Butterfly ran out of school today saying she lost her tooth!  It was barely loose!  But here she was, clutching a baggie with her tooth in it and jumping up and down.

Butterfly look at my tooth

I’ve been trying to teach her how to whistle and she was all upset that she couldn’t practice whistling (it involves pushing her tongue on her front teeth) anymore.  Wait, is that what she was doing in school when her tooth came out?

You betcha.

Love my girl.

My Little Snowman’s Teeth

Everyone,

Today at school for spirit week is dress like a snowman day. Butterfly and I picked out things that were white for her to wear. But since she didn’t have white pants, she wore her great sparkly leggings because “when the sun shines on the snow it’s sparkly.” Okay.

Juice had a hat, I supplied a fun scarf, and off to school she went! Isn’t she an adorable snowman?

Butterfly Frosty

This snowman also lost her FIRST tooth today!! She lost it sometime at lunch at school. She’s not sure where it is. But she didn’t eat her apple because there “was a crunchy hard spot” in it. Ah ha. Still, no tooth to show but a gap! And the gap makes her look so big!

She wrote a note to the tooth fairy explaining what happened to her tooth and put it under her pillow for the tooth fairy to visit.

Butterfly toothfairy letter

The letter says, “Dear tooth fat Dear tooth fairy I have lost a tooth at lunch in my school please find it! it It is at my school! please still bring me a present. It is at my school. And this is Butterfly work. Love Butterfly!” Then she drew a tooth.

I can’t believe how fast she is growing up!

First Day of Kindergarten

Everyone,

In Butterfly’s own words:

“First, we had to wait a long time for everyone to be there.  It was really boring.  But then we went up to my classroom, you know the one we went to?  And we have Choice time!  I played with play dough.  I don’t get to play with play dough very often, do I?  I should play with that during every Choice time.

And lunch was cool.  I didn’t get to finish everything because everyone was being too loud and annoying me.  Recess was fun.  I played a lot on the slide.

Oh!  I got to go see the nurse again too.  She’s really nice, but she made me drink some yucky water and swish it around in my mouth and make the ‘rhrhr’ sound in my throat.  I went because I was coughing so much.

My backpack was too big for my cubby.  You shouldn’t put so much stuff in it.  And I didn’t know you gave me tissues!  I could have used them today but I don’t know how to open the box.

It was a fun day.  I want to go back tomorrow.”

She came running out of school all smiles and happy to see me.  I’m not quiet sure what happened to her back pack though…everything was gone from it except the tissues and the baby wipes.  Don’t you think that if they didn’t need these things, they wouldn’t ask for them?  I can’t figure out why they came back.

Also, if they send Butterfly to the nurse, I’d like to know about it!  I thought maybe there would be a note in her backpack but there wasn’t.  Do I ask the teacher for more information?

Speaking of the nurse, Butterfly started complaining that her ear hurt about an hour after school.  By the end of dinner, she was in tears it hurt so bad.  Uh-oh.  It sounds like she has another infection.  Or maybe she was just exhausted from the day?  We’ll find out tomorrow morning.  If it still hurts her, I’m taking her to the doctor’s.

And the best way to end such a big day?  A big dish of strawberry ice cream…with a specially requested cherry.

My Little Sunbeam

Everyone,

It was Butterfly’s very first day in big kid primary. She is now a Sunbeam! (The name of the class she is in.) All week long we have been talking about her becoming a Sunbeam and singing “Jesus Wants me for a SunBEAM” as much as possible. Church time has changed from 1pm to 9am with the new year change (each congregation or ward rotates through the different times…there are 3 wards in our building so we have 3 times: 9am, 11am, 1pm). When she got up this morning she went marching around the house saying, “I’m a SunBEAM! I’m a SunBEAM!” It was very cute.

The boys are still coughing with bad runny noses so I stayed home with them. I was sad not to be able to pick her up from her very first Primary class and celebrate this milestone with her. She seemed to have a good time. Juice said she went right in and sat right down at her chair. No crying, no problems.

I did remember to take a bunch of pictures of her with her new dress from Costa Rica from my brother. So cute! And this is such a Butterfly expression. She is telling me a story and I asked her what was next. She said, “Hmmm…” and this is what I got. I love that dimple of hers.

When we first moved into this ward I was the Sunbeam teacher. I was pregnant with Butterfly at the time and sick. A lot. I think I maybe made it to church once a month. But I still remember all those kids. They seemed so big at the time! And now look, my Baby Girl is in there too. I think she is ready for this change. She told me that they got to sing songs and she even knew one. Oh, she also said that Daddy was late picking her up, but she was being a good helper picking everything up. (Daddy teaches his own class of 12-13 year old boys during the last hour.) So hopefully I’ll be able to pick her up next week and she can tell me all about it.
