Everyone,
We spent the morning at the park with friends. I pushed the boys in the swing (both boys in the same swing) and they had SUCH a good time. Butterfly was a trooper and walked the whole way. The weather was great too.
Really, there’s not much to stay about it so here’s a few links I thought you guys might like.
Did you know I was on the Comcast blog? Me either until I searched for myself. It’s all about meeting people at BlogHer. When we talked to them at their booth (and entered to win an iPad which I sadly did not win), me and the girl got into a discussion. Why having Comcast would be better than having Netflix. In the end, we agreed to disagree. Of course, she has to be loyal to her employer. And I had to be loyal to Netflix and their Wii streaming. Seriously, I have never regretted getting rid of cable.
For all you Utah people (and I know there is a lot of you!), you might want to enter this contest for free tickets to the aquarium. I haven’t been to the Utah Living Planet Aquarium (that’s on our list for next year) but it looks like a fun time. Although I can’t get over the fact that the building it’s in used to be a huge craft store that I went to all the time. Knowing what it looks like on the inside makes me curious to see how they turned it into an aquarium. So if you win the tickets, let me know!

Everyone,
Because I’m still going through all my pictures, here are a few from my big fun weekend in New York!

Lolli and I in the S’mores Suite. AMAZING! What’s even more amazing that they were one of my sponsors. They were really great and I absolutely loved their suite. Seriously, this was a hotel room that they turned into the woods!

My other amazing sponsors. SEED has some amazing products and some amazing people too. I’m pleased to be working with them!

For all the strange things that go on in New York, the three of us (Amy, Lolli, Me) walking down Broadway in tutus brought us some very strange looks. My first 5k, which we walked!

I went to the Glam and Games party where I got to see E.L.F’s new show room and enjoy some xbox dancing! It was tons of fun. Also fun? Getting my makeup done by an amazingly talented lady. What a fun time!

I was able to have a very hot and sticky time at the Central Park with I Heart Faces founder and friends. This seal was the only one that looked happy with the heat!
Many thanks to Amy and Lolli for these pictures (except the seal). I have yet to get through most of mine!

Everyone,
Top Best things about BlogHer:
1. Having a whole weekend to hang out with Lolli. Seriously, we basically talked all weekend long and I loved it.
2. Watching the bar tenders at one of the parties dance to the music. They were all men in tuxedos. Older men, as in 60+.
3. Having people not recoil in a germ-phobic fit when, shortly after I met them, I tried to push my lung out of my body. I had (and still have) a horrible horrible cough. I really hope that my roommates didn’t get it.
4. Meeting other bloggers that I had been reading for so long! I love seeing these people in real life. Now I hear their voices as I read their blogs. I love that.
5. Meeting other bloggers whose blogs I HAVEN’T read yet. And have spent all day reading and getting to know them through their words.
6. Seeing the sights of New York. In the few days I was there, I saw the central park zoo (on one very hot and sticky day), Times Square at night, the Brooklyn Bridge at night, Rockafeller Center the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island.
7. Attending the classes. The speakers were all amazing and I learned a lot of interesting things. Also, the key note speakers for the showcasing the best blogs of the year was thought provoking. I loved hearing other people’s stories and wondered how I could polish mine up.
8. Having fun in the expo hall. Not only did we meet some interesting sponsors, they gave some interesting swag out too. My best swag from the trip? A small Thomas the Tank Engine that Professor has not let out of his sight. If he deems something worthy enough to put Thomas down, it goes in my pocket. That boy and his train! I also played the Wii a ton (a dance game, loved it!) and got a Wii dance game to take home myself. I also played the texting game and won a cell phone. Too bad I don’t have cell service because this is one awesome phone.
9. Winning a birthday party for the kids from SproutTV. Seriously, they are putting on a birthday party for all my kids AND 30 of their guests. Barney will be there. And Chika. How cool is that?! I’m excited for late April now!
10. Having a few days away from the kids and being a real person. I got my makeup done. I played video games without taking turns. I dressed up and had adult conversation. I did not have to worry about anyone else eating but me. I didn’t even have to clean up after anyone else, let alone myself. I got very little sleep but I was happy.
And the best thing about BlogHer?
11. Coming home to my family and having everyone jump on me. “Mommy!” Is there a better word in the English language? I think not.

PS- This conference and the cough have done me in. PLUS, Flower went home yesterday. So not only am I without my right hand helper, I am sick! And we miss her.

Everyone,
I’m in New York for the big blogging conference, BlogHer. It’s been a crazy day. I was up at 4:30am to get to Baltimore in time to catch the train. There were about 30 (?) of us on the train and we were LOUD. Those poor commuters. I think we scared more than a few out of the car we were in. And Bro! The train had a bar and buffy so I had to visit it for you.
While we were gabbing away, we went through Deleware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey on our way to New York.
Lolli and I had a lunch date with a business associate of hers in Chelsea Market so we thought we would take the subway down one stop. I swiped my card but couldn’t make it through the very narrow turn style with my luggage. Lolli made it through the little spinny door thing. I tried to go through and it said I had already swiped my card. Ack! So now Lolli is stuck on one side, and me on the other. I went upstairs to talk to the attendant. He laughed at me and buzzed me through the big gate. But now I have no idea where Lolli is and Penn Station is huge! I spent a good half hour wandering around trying to find her. I did, but not after I was dripping, dripping with sweat.
We looked good for that luncheon, let me tell you! Good sandwiches though.
We got to our hotel a little early before check in but I was super friendly and got a room early. Once we dumped our bags, we went on the iheartfaces photo walk. They took us to Central Park Zoo. We saw the sea lion show (great) and the snow leopard. The rest of the animals were hiding it was just so stinking hot. We saw the feet of the polar bear, snow monkeys, and the penguins. We also got to meet one of the co-founders of iheartfaces and that was really fun.
Once we got back to the hotel, Lolli had another meeting so I went up to our room to get dressed for our big party tonight. Sadly, Lolli’s meeting went really late and we were VERY late to the party. I was so sad to have missed the mingling but SEED is still an amazing company. And remember my fun little video? This party was the celebration of that!
I really am grateful to have SEED sponsor us here in New York. With out them, Lolli and I couldn’t come and have this amazing adventure.
Now I’m off for some more partying before classes start tomorrow! I think I’m going to sleep well tonight!

PS- Totally missing my family. On the train this morning, I kept thinking of the boys who would have flipped out over being on an actual train! And Butterfly would have loved all the tall buildings here. And everyone would have loved the zoo. I miss them.

Everyone,
Last year, as I read every one’s BlogHer freak out posts, I thought “Psh! Get it together! It’s just a conference! You will be fine!”
Sorry about my lack of a bedside manner last year in my head guys. Because here I am, 2 days away from going to BlogHer, and I am freaking out.
Mostly I’m freaking out because it’s 11pm on Tuesday and I should be done. Ready to go. Packed. And I’m not.
The me of last year would say, “You have one more day! Stop stressing about it!”
The me of this year says, “Not only is tomorrow my very last full day with Flower and we’ve got another adventure planned as a last hurrah, it’s also my anniversary. I should probably spend the evening with Juice since I’ll be gone all weekend. And what does that leave me with?! No time to prep tomorrow. Gah!!”
*insert twitchy eye blinking and jaw clenching*
I’m really not worried about the conference. Lolli and I are going to have so much fun! We have a lot lined up to do. I’m sure I’m going to come home exhausted. Hopefully I also come home refreshed. I’m hoping this weekend away will give me some more patience to deal with Professor’s utter dependency on me. And a renewed appreciation for my husband and family.
But until then, stress!
*twitchy eye blinking and jaw clenching*
Please see Lolli’s To Do List before we leave. I’m too stressed/tired/busy to make one of my own.
Which is saying a lot for me!

Everyone,
Who doesn’t love shmoes? Er, I mean S’mores? And Hershey’s is the best chocolate for s’mores!

Tonight we went over to a friend’s house and played the best game ever invented. (You can totally play this online on facebook now!) We laughed so hard. Tears were streaming down my face over this game. We love to play it. Because we laughed so much, we had to take a break in the middle to refuel after laughing. Our desert of choice (after a wonderful bbq dinner) was s’mores!

So after a big night of laughing and eating and spending quality time with family, I suggest s’mores for desert. Yum!

PS- As a disclaimer, I’m part of the S’mores Road Trip to BlogHer in New York City (happening on THURSDAY people, and I haven’t even packed yet!) which is getting me to and home from BlogHer with a bunch of other awesome bloggers. They also sent me all the s’mores fixings we used tonight. Those roasting tongs are awesome. While the tongs may be branded “Hershey”, all opinions are mine and mine alone. Going to BlogHer? Be sure to stop by their S’mores “Snactivity” Suite in room #4233 and get refuled from laughing yourself.

Everyone,
After I got out of the shower the morning I noticed that the boys were very quiet. It’s not unusual for me to find them into some kind of mischief after my quick “splash and dash”. So I went in search of them and found them in our spare bedroom on the bed. (Flower, we’re ready for you!!) They had found my stash of travel SEED products and had tossed them around the room. By the time I walked in, they were snuggled up together on the bed desperately trying to get the boxes of soap open.
And when they put their minds to it, they get what they want! I thought they were so cute surrounded by soap boxes so I whipped out my camera. Sadly, I didn’t get them surrounded in boxes by the time I came back from getting my camera. But I did get some very cute ones!

Of course, the fun ended when Professor decided to try and take a huge bite out of the soap.
And it’s so nice that they decided to showcase my last giveaway! I’ve extended the deadline and you can comment and enter up until midnight EST. I’ll count all the comments on this post as well.

Everyone,
I have been running from one thing to another day getting ready for Butterfly’s big birthday bash tomorrow. We’re having a carnival and hopefully it will turn out okay. I’ve got a million and one things running through my head. Mostly I’m just happy I found my underwater camera that is my video camera today. It has a tendency to walk away in small hands. This time, I found it in my camera bag. Imagine that.
Ahem…moving on.

Tonight we had the great pleasure of going to a wedding of Juice’s cousin. It was a lot of fun to see all of our relatives, and to have everyone remark on how SIMILAR Butterfly and Pirate were to all the other little cousins running around. Gotta love those genes and how they show up! Also, it’s fun to hear of all my cousins who read the blog. Hi guys!
Juice’s cousin was in charge of pictures and asked me to bring my camera along and help out a little. I was a bad phototog and didn’t charge my batteries. So the camera ran out of juice right as they were cutting the cake. (See Dad this is why I need a battery grip!) Still, Jenny was able to get some good pictures (I just handed my camera over to her. You try wrangling 3 kids and try and take pictures!) I was also able to help her stage family shots and get every one’s attention. Juice’s comment after we were done with the pictures: “Your dad would have been so proud.”

I took this picture of Juice making his chain mail gloves. A tutorial is in the works (hence the pictures) but I really liked this one for some odd reason.

I like the depth of field and the picture of Juice with tools in his hands. Something he loves to do.
