Everyone,
We love to have breakfast at the local Amish market every summer. This time, we went as soon as we could with Flower. The boys LOVED their pancakes and strawberry jam. Butterfly had chocolate chip pancakes, and Flower had a meal with pancakes.
I had one lone egg and some veggies I brought from home. Sometimes dieting sucks.
But these pictures don’t!

Professor wanted “ti-angles” and probably used the most jam.

Pirate used the other half of the jam, and only ate the edges. We took most of his home.

Butterfly insisted on putting every single topping on her pancakes. Never mind that they were chocolate chip. Syrup, jam, apple butter, grape jelly, peanut butter topping, and butter. Um, yum?
Yay for awesome breakfasts!

Everyone,
It’s our first day of our first summer vacation ever! Yay! Last night, we made a list of things we’d like to do this summer. Everyone got to add something to it, even Flower. Everyone’s top pick? BEACH TRIP! (Professor has been asking to go to the beach all day today because we told them we are going later in the summer.)
Other top billing things for the summer? Pool trips, new playgrounds, gardening, Just Dance 2-off with friends, and Annapolis. We are going to have one fun filled summer! I can’t wait.
To celebrate no school today (or any day for 70 odd days) we went to the Amish Market and had breakfast. Butterfly had 2 chocolate chip pancakes. She put every single kind of jam on them. And then the strawberry jam they leave on the table. And the peanut butter topping. Then syrup. Mmm….
The boys each tried to eat a pancake with butter and strawberry jam on it. Flower had eggs, pancakes, bacon. I had one, lone egg. Sad but true. This diet better be worth it. And the day I get to be off, I’m totally going to the Amish Market for breakfast!
We then played at a new play ground next to the Amish Market. They had a slide made out of rolling bars. The kids and Flower had such a fun time with that! I took a bunch of pictures. (Which you won’t see today because my Internet is spotty and I’m too tired to fight with it.)
We then came home for lunch, naps, and rest time. Juice came home. We had dinner.
Since we went to have ice cream to celebrate the first day of school, we thought we needed ice cream to celebrate the last day of school too! Yesterday was too busy so we went today. Everyone loved their ice cream. I enjoyed an apple.
This summer is going to be fun! I just know it!

Everyone,
We bought our current dining room table at a garage sale in Utah. Actually, I think my grandma bought it for us as a wedding present. It was $80 and we had to bargain for the fourth chair. When we were first married, it was a lot of table! We used it partly as a shelf and partly as a dining area.
It did not survive the move across the country well. But Juice had a bunch of free time on his hands. So with a little wood glue and some clamps and screws, it was a good table again. Butterfly joined us at the table when she was around 2 years old and didn’t want to sit in her high chair any more. She’s painted, colored, craft-ed, on that table. So have I!
People would come to visit us and we would always have to pull out our camp chairs to fit everyone around the table. No big deal since then the visitors would leave and we would put away the chairs. Now that Flower is here for the summer, our table chair situation has become dire. We have 4 chairs. And four big people that need to use the chairs. And 2 two year olds that WANT to use the chairs.
Even without Flower this would be a problem.
So we need new chairs! Juice even agreed we need more chairs! I’d like them to match (close approximation) to the ones we have. Honestly what I’d really love is a new dining room set. I have been saving money for one that I intend to buy at the Amish Market before we leave the area for good (no, we are NOT moving right now). I’d like something like this or like this.
But wait! I just found this one which would be ideal. Why? Because the chairs I have already match this one and then I would have extra chairs!

What’s one thing that these dining room sets all have in common? They all have benches. Juice’s parents have a big table with benches on either side and I love it. You can cram a bunch of people on the benches and not have to worry about getting extra chairs.
But until I have the money for that, I’ll make do with 2 new chairs.

Everyone,
I am a boring blogger! Seriously can I be any more boring? I would stop reading me if I was reading this. I chalk it up to being out of the writing groove. Utah really threw off my groove. Will you stick with me while I get back up to being semi-interesting? Pretty please?
Today we decided to stick close to home and go to the Amish market for lunch. I made Butterfly cry three times. She was a princess today and “princess twirl mom. You should know that.” Well, my Miss Butterfly is not the most graceful child. Poor girl is going to be long and awkward for a long time. Anyway, twirling + awkwardness = disaster in a small shop. She was incredibly well behaved at lunch. All the kids were. Pirate was flirting with the waitresses, Professor was picking the cheese off of his grilled cheese sandwich and eating only that. And Butterfly was just eating. We bought bread and candy. We also all sat down at the table I really want to buy and I drooled over it again. I even found a china hutch that matches it with hand carved flowers and vines all over it. Beautiful.
We stopped by the farmer’s market as well. Boy I missed the farmer’s market here! It’s small (3 booths) but the fruit is amazing. We got blueberries which are almost all gone. And the peaches are so flavorful! Yum!
Book club was tonight for me. It was the last one for a member of ours and I’m going to miss her! She is moving far away (okay, to Utah…but it is far! I just drove it. I should know.) and we just needed to have time to be with each other. I love book club.

Everyone,
Guess where we went today? HERSHEY!! Yum yum. I bought a case of 1 lb chocolate bars. Normally I’m not a huge chocolate fan but lately (okay, ever since I couldn’t have it!) I’ve been interested in it. Chocolate world was cool. This was my second time here but Butterfly’s first. She was entranced by the little ride with the singing cows. My dad was trying hard not to puke out the side for the corniness of it. She had a great time and now our little fridge is packed with chocolate. Yum!
Butterfly also “made” a little box of kisses which she loved doing. I have pictures, but they are on my camera still.
We also stopped by my mom’s old house that she lived in when she was a few months old till she was about 2. We’ve been here before (last year actually) and so I just sat in the car and fed boys. Mom remembers nothing of the house, except maybe a vague impression of the little alley way next to the house.
We then went back to the hotel to say hello to Juice. Welcome to PA Juice! Butterfly was so excited to see her daddy that she just wanted to stay with him. Since he was not interested in our next outing, she stayed at the hotel with him. And since she was staying, I fed the boys and left them with him too. My dad decided to take a little break too so they all stayed home and my Mom and I drove to Bird-in-Hand, PA.
This is kind of a big Amish community. It was very cool! We didn’t have enough time here (a phone call about 10 minutes into the town with a screaming boy in the back ground) but we did stop at a farm and bought home made root beer and saw them driving buggies up and down the main street. That part was cool because the side of the road was rutted from all of the buggies up and down the street. I want to go back and stay in the little inn that was on the main street with chairs in the front lawn so I can sit and watch them go back and forth all day. I’m not all that interested in the Amish, but their HORSES!
